Discussion Held between Zurich AG Representatives and Government Officials over Master Plan of Jewar Airport
The four representatives of Zurich AG, the highest bidder of Jewar International airport, flown from Switzerland to the country for having a detailed discussion over master planning of the airport with the government officials. The meeting took place on the fifth floor of the Lok Bhawan, Lucknow and attended by UP Chief Minister, Principal Secretary to SP Goyal. Officials from Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority, representatives of private consultant Price Waterhouse Cooper and local representatives also attended the meeting. It started in the afternoon and continued till the evening.
The two parties discussed each other’s expectations and takeaways and made attempts to reach a mutual consent decision before finalizing the master plan of the sought after airport project. The significant amount of time devoted to chalk out the strategies of the best models and practices need to follow for the airport operations across global cities.
Design of airfield pavement and runaways, and how Zurich AG is planning to take care of maintenance repair and overhaul of aircraft (MRO) were few topics where were deliberated upon. The senior officials of Zurich AG also discussed the proposed infrastructure projects that would improve the connectivity of the Jewar Airport site with the entire NCR region and surrounding districts.
