Soon, the people can enjoy shopping in a business hub, which is about to develop near the upcoming Jewar International Airport. This business hub spreads across 500 acres of land in sector-29 along Yamuna Expressway and 200 acres are reserved for the textile hub. This major step will definitely give a major boost to the ailing textile industry in the city and it will also house expo mart and handicraft parks in the same facility.
The 500 acres land will also include an apparel park that will house 300 shops and will attract investment of approx. INR 3, 000 crore. This park will offer facilities related to sale and export of furniture, fashion goods, jewellery items, garments, hard goods and apparels.
As per the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the process of identifying a consultant for the textile hub has been initiated. The consultant will work in conjunction with Noida Apparel Export Cluster. The project is expected to kick-start from the next year and tendered will float soon.
Prior to this, the biggest news pertaining to the Jewar International Airport was Switzerland based Zurich Airport International AG won the bid for the building the Jewar Airport in different phases. It is expected that the first phase will operational by 2023 with passenger handling capacity of 12 million every year.
